Police nad Metují

The museum is located on the first floor of a Benedictine monastery in rooms originally intended for the residence of the abbot.

The tour includes the abbot's unique private chapel with original Art Nouveau decorations and altar. The vestibule of the chapel is equipped with unoriginal, pseudo-historic furniture from the late 19th century. A unique feature is the toilet located behind the chapel.

The main living room is furnished as a burgher room from the 19th century, with examples of furniture, paintings and glass and porcelain. The other rooms contain expositions of historical objects documenting crafts, trade and the activities of associations in Police nad Metují.

An additional exhibition explores the colonization of the Policko region and the history of the town.

The corridors and stairways are used as a gallery for exhibitions.

The museum is operated by the Regional Museum in Náchod.
